Pycnometer Sugar Concentration
Calculates the concentration of a sugar water solution from pycnometer readings.

grams full pycnometer
temperature (5-40°C / 41-104°F)
grams empty pycnometer
ml pycometer volume
calibration temperature of the pycnometer (5-40°C / 41-104°F)
kg/l glass density (2.23 borosilicate glass, 2.5-2.7 normales Glas)
volume expansion coefficient of the glass (0.00001 borosilicate glass
0.00003 normales Glas
)

kg/l density of air (normally 0.0012)

The calculation at 20°C / 68°F is possible up to 80% sugar. At other temperatures only up to maximum 40%. Even if a calculation is possible at temperatures of 5-40°C / 41-104°F, the measurement should still be carried out as close as possible to 20°C / 68°F.
Since almost no one has an absolutely accurate indicating thermometer, an additional "thermometer error" can be specified. This can be determined with the help of the Thermometer Error calculator. This does not apply here however to the calibration temperature. So 20°C calibration temperature means a pycnometer calibrated to real 20°C. But it is valid for the measured temperature of the sugar solution. So the temperature entered there is the display value of the thermometer.
With the help of the calculator Pycnometer Volume Determination you can determine the exact volume of the pycnometer yourself, if it is not engraved.
It is possible to switch between SG, Oechsle, Brix and g/lt sugar.
You can save presets so that you do not have to enter all the values of your pycnomter each time. These presets are saved as cookies on your device. Apart from the values, nothing is contained in the cookies. You simply enter your values into the calculator, whereby it makes sense to leave the top two fields, which are different for every measurement, empty, and then click on "Save inputs as ...". You can then load these values again and again at the touch of a button, even if you have restarted the browser or your device.
You have to create the presets separately on each device or browser if you want to use them on different devices or with different browsers. The presets are not connected to the forum or your forum account.
Presets created here can also be called up on the Pycnometer Alcohol Strength calculator. And those created there can also be accessed here.
The cookies are automatically deleted after one year. If a preset is loaded or saved again, the year starts all over again. If you delete the cookies in your browser settings, the presets are also deleted.
